Classic MQ Black & White Developer

Our Classic Black and White film developer offers fine grain results along with great shadow detail. This powdered developer can be used straight or diluted 1:1 for increased sharpness and grain. The developer’s ability to produce a long tonal scale with low fog also benefits its use for push processing. Development times for D-76 developer are used for Classic MQ. Comes in 1 litre, 4 litre and 20 litre pouches. Capacity is approximately 12 rolls per litre.

Black & White Cine Film Developer

A developer specifically designed for motion picture film, it is a low contrast developer for managing highlights and shadows in the most demanding conditions. It can be used as stock or diluted 1:1 for a sharper image with slight increase in grain. This is the go-to developer for Kodak Double-X, Orwo UN54 and N75 as well as Lomography Potsdam and Berlin Kino 400 cinema films. Development time starting points are 7 minutes for stock and 10.5 minutes for 1:1. Comes in 1 litre and 4 litre pouches. Capacity is approximately 12 rolls per litre.

MQ-19 Black & White Developer

Geoffrey Crawley’s FX37

Geoffrey Crawley’s FX37 legendary formula is back. Designed specifically to provide the highest acutance for T-grained film stocks like Kodak, T-Max, Ilford Delta and Fuji Acros II. FX37’s developer is split into 3 parts; 2 powders and 1 liquid, giving you 1 litre of stock solution and an 8 roll capacity.

Geoffrey Crawley’s FX-6a

Geoffrey Crawley’s FX-6a Monobath is here creating timless nostalgic scenes. As an all-in-one developer/fixer it gives you high contrast and coarse grain in your final images. This fast acting developer only takes 8 minutes to process your film, or 14 minutes for T-grained films. This 1 litre of solution is good for 8-10 rolls of film.

Black, White & Green

A very environmentally friendly developer that can safely be flushed down the drain or into your septic system. The active developer is Vitamin C and the superadditive is phenidone, long known as a low toxin developer. This is a high concentration developer that is diluted 1:49 and can be mixed as needed with a very long shelf life. The development times are the same as what’s used for Kodak D-76 1:2. This comes in a 250ml bottle which will make 12.5 litres of working solution with a total capacity of 50 rolls of film and a 500ml bottle which will make 25 litres of working solution with a total capacity of 100 rolls of film.

Fog-Off

Found grandpa’s giant stash of film and paper but the images just come out foggy? Get that hazy-ness to Fog-Off with Flic Film’s newest film and photo paper fog restrainer. This 500ml bottle of Fog-Off is perfect for any expired film that’s been sitting for 5 years or more, or paper that’s been sitting for 10 years or more.

Low Odour Stop Bath

Flic Film Low Odour Stop Bath is a citric acid stop bath which stops further development of film when used as part of the standard development stop and fix process. Using a stop bath neutralizes the developer which definitively sets the development time and prolongs the life of the fixer. The packaging of this product is made with post-consumer recycled resin and comes in a 200gram and 600gram bottle. Mixed 20g (4 teaspoons) to 1 litre, one bottle will make 10 litres of stop bath. Each litre has a capacity of 12 rolls of film.

Low Odour Indicator Stop Bath

Flic Film Low Odour Indicator Stop Bath uses citric acid in place of acetic acid and bromocresol purple as a pH indicator dye. This stop bath changes color to indicate when the bath is exhausted and no longer effective. Like any stop bath, this one also stops further development of film when used as part of the standard development stop and fix process. Using a stop bath neutralizes the developer which definitively sets the development time and prolongs the life of the fixer. Comes in a 500mL bottle. Add 950mL of water to 50mL of concentrate to make 1 litre. Each litre has a capacity of 12 rolls of film.

Stop Bath Test Kit

This little indicator bottle comes with a spoon so you’re able to test your stop bath’s exhaustion. (Not to eat it silly!) With only 2 drops in the spoon; if your stop turns yellow, it’s still good, if you get clear or purple, your stop bath is expired.

Stop Bath Indicator

Much like the little Stop Bath Test Kit, this indicator will let you know if your stop bath is exhausted. But unlike the test kit, you may not need a little spoon and just want more indicator. So this 118ml bottle would be the perfect solution for you!

Flic Hypo-Check

Flic Hypo-Check can determine if your fixer has reached exhaustion. Just put one or two drops in your fixer bottle or graduate cyliner and if it turns cloudy, your fixer is exhausted. Comes in a small but mighty 30ml bottle.

Flic Quick Fixer

Flic Quick Fixer is an easy to use, non-hardening rapid fixer concentrate that is diluted 1:3 concentrate to water for film and 1:6 concentrate to water for paper (250ml size). Or also diluted 1:4 concentrate to water for film and 1:8 concentrate to water for paper (500ml and 1 litre size). It is suitable for all black and white film and paper. It contains no hypo so does not require a Hypo Clearing Agent prior to washing. Flic Quick Fixer is available in 250ml bottles (20 roll capacity), 500ml bottles (40 roll capacity), 1 litre concentrated formula bottles (100 roll capacity) and a concentrated formula 4 litre jug, (400 roll capacity).

Flic Allergen Free Fixer

Flic Allergen Free Fixer is an easy-to-use, non-hardening fixer that is odorless and contains no ammonia or sulfur dioxide. Many people develop sensitivity to fixers after long term use. The culprits in this sensitivity have been identified as ammonia in rapid style fixers and sulfur dioxide in hypo style fixers. Flic Allergen Free Fixer contains no ammonia and has been formulated to not create sulfur dioxide when mixed. The use of Flic Low Odor Stop Bath is recommended to avoid the chances of a sulfur dioxide reaction that can occur with the use of acetic acid stop baths.
Flic Allergen Free Fixer is a hypo style fixer and the use of Hypo-Clearing agent in the final wash is highly recommended in order to save water and time.

Hypo-Clearing Agent

Flic Hypo-Clearing Agent is designed to save water and time during the washing stage of film and print processing following fixing with non-rapid fixers. By helping remove residual fixer more efficiently, it reduces the amount of washing required, making it a practical addition to any darkroom workflow. Ideal for photographers looking to streamline their film developing process, Flic Hypo-Clearing Agent helps make washing more efficient without compromising proper processing. Available in 1 litre and 4 litre sizes to suit a variety of darkroom needs.

Slick – 200

Slick-200 is a wetting agent for the final rinse of both colour and black & white negatives. Slick-200 decreases the surface tension of water so that it flows evenly off the negative surface preventing water marks and streaks that would otherwise be produced during drying. Mix 5mL of Slick-200 to a litre of water. One 250mL bottle will make 50 Litres of wetting agent while our 475mL bottle makes 95 Litres.

Paper Developers & Toners

Whether you’re producing classic black-and-white photographs or exploring creative toning techniques, these products offer the tools to achieve your desired results and get the most out of your analog photography.

The only environmentally friendly paper developer on the market, Phenatol Green is used much like Quintol. Dilutions are 1:1 stock solution to water for high-contrast, 1:3 for normal contrast and 1:4 for low contrast prints. Comes in a 4 litre size.

Warm Tone Paper Developer

This Warm Tone Paper Developer is a liquid concentrate that is fit for dish/tray developing for RC and FB black & white photographic papers. The developer utilizes a 1:9 dilution to produce prints that have a striking appearance with richer blacks and creamy highlights.

Stabilizer

Taken right from our old C-41 kits, this package of stabilizer is good to create 1 litre of solution. This stabilizer is used with expired color film with the expiry date of 2005 or earlier to help preserve the negative after it is developed. Stabilizer is not needed for modern color negative film (C-41 process) because manufacturers changed the film emulsion to incorporate the necessary stabilizing agents within the film layers itself, starting around the early 2000s.

Alternative Processing

The cyanotype process was conceived by Sir John Herschel in 1842 and the formula has remained essentially unchanged until today. It is a non-toxic simple approach to making prints by laying a negative over treated paper and exposing it to the sun. It can also be used for photograms, an image made without a camera by placing objects directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive material and then exposing it to light. Our kits have sufficient capacity for up to 50 A4 sized sheets. Water colour paper or cotton cloth are both excellent mediums for cyanotype printing. Cyanotypes can be toned to different colours after being bleached. Toners can be tea, coffee, wine or any other tannic acid rich liquid.
